Volunteer Opportunities
Young Musicians of Alamance could not exist without the impressive dedication of our mighty Volunteers! Our volunteers help with many aspects of the organization, from Food Prep and serving lunch to the students, to assisting Teaching Artists in classes.
YMA has room for many more volunteers. YMA Volunteer is also an easy gig to get. Simply fill out the online application and submit it. Once submitted, complete the background check (no charge), and submit it, too (volunteers under age 18 not required to submit background check). Volunteers must be age 16 or above. If you wish a paper application and background check, please notify the Office and we will be happy to mail them out to you.
Office Support
Our Executive Director, Ekin, and administrative staff can always use your help inputting data, filling, stuffing mailers, and assisting with paper work.
YMA always needs Spanish speakers to help translate documents and conversations.
Classroom Assistant
Support the Teaching Artists and students during class. During performances volunteers are important to help supervise students.
If you are a trained musician or music teacher, you can lead breakout groups of students. Musicians are needed to help tune instruments and change strings. Even if you are an admirer and not a player, we could use your help!
