Young Musicians of Alamance Concert at Twin Lakes

Fresh from a triumph at the ribbon-cutting for the permanent shelter at North Park, the Young Musicians of Alamance are giving a concert at Twin Lakes Retirement Community on November 12. The concert will be at 2:00 pm in the Twin Lakes May-Foley Chapel.  All of the students will be performing both instrumental and choral numbers.

YMA numbers have doubled since last June and we now are serving students from four schools! All 15 of our last year’s students from Eastlawn have returned and brought 3 first graders with them. Two are the excited sisters of returning students, who have been watching their older siblings from the sidelines as kindergartners. Now they are full-fledged Young Musicians, grinning from ear to ear! We also have 10 students from North Graham – up from the 3 we had last Spring. And now we have eight students from Andrews and Newlin Schools.

Not only will our students be performing, but their talented Teaching Artists will also be holding forth! Mr. Jerry Davis, our new Program Director, will be blowing his horn! And Ms. Camille Jones, our new general music teacher, will be thrilling us with her incredible voice.
